I have acouple of my dog that itch all the time. They dont have fleas I have checked them over real good for that and have not found any while giving a bath either.

The are digging at them selves so bad now they are starting to scratch their hair off and causing scabs. What can a guy do to help them out.

Might this be mites or something and if so how do I get rid of them.

Thanks for your help guys and gals.

Ron

If you rule mites out I'd try a Hydrocortisone spray or cream.

Buy you some Sulfodene shampoo from a pet store or your feed n seed store.Give them a bath with this stuff and it will cure the problem and more.

Ron, try some borax mixed with hydrogen peroxide and water if the dog has big dandruff flakes. I had a couple of dogs with big flakes of dandruff itching and scratching real bad. A friend gave me the formula I gave you and their hair is back and the itching is gone. Chris

I dont see any Dandruff or flaking on the dogs skin. Im thinking i might be mites so Im going to try some sulfer and see what that does plus Im going to pick up some Ivermectin as well.....

Had this problem off and on for 2 years or so. Vets say its not mites. $800 allergy testing...more in shots each month or so. Some relief but at times (now) She starts up again.

if you take them to allergy clinic make sure the vet will release the findings to you so you can get a serum made up anywhere. Mine won't tell us the formula or foward medical records. If we want to go elsewhere we'll need to have her tested again.

RIPOFFs.. what a scam.

The vets I've dealt with around here have always released my dogs medical records to me with no problem. Good luck with your dogs.
