Anyone ever had there dog get cauliflower ear? I just had to take one of my males to the vet because his left ear was full of blood and puss causing his ear to stick striaght out. Vet did did surgery drianed his ear and put stitches in it. She said it was due to him shaking his head back and forth and it caused the cartlidge to to tear away and fill up with fluid.
The funny thing is I had the same surgery done on both of my ears in college, because of my cauliflower ear from wrestling.

I had this happen with a cocker spaniel once. Its fairly common in dogs with long ears ;-)

Hey Nick, did the vet look inside the ear to try and figure out why he was shaking his head so hard? Maybe an ear infection or mites or something else was in there that he was trying to get out...???

Emery, Yea the vet looked in his ear and he did have a slight ear infection, but the funny thing is he got sprayed by a skunk the day before when we were out running, so I think that was really what was causing him to shake his head.
Just got the stitches out and looks like it has healed up pretty good.
