Just wanted to know when to expect the first heat from my pups. Any replies are appreciated.

mine came in at 6 month,had them before 1yr to almost 2

My oldest female was 9 months on her first heat and boy she was Cranky. I don't think she quite knew why she felt funny.
Anyhow it's approximately a 21 day cycle from what I know.. I say 7 days in, 7 days on, 7 days out. She's very fertile at the 9 day stage I think. She'll swell up, you'll know she's coming into heat.
Then she had her second heat 9 month later but was fine, we ran her and she trialed too, probably shouldn't have, she ran better when she wasn't.

Earliest I've seen was 7 months and latest was about 18 months. I had a gyp last year that was 13 mo. before she came in heat.

I have had females not come in till they are 2 to 2 1/2 yrs of age vet told me that it was nothing to worry about alot depends on how much you run them and stress. the best gyp i have only comes in once a yr.

My bitch is in her first one at 8 months. Anyone tell me exactly how long they last typicaly, and are they always that long or do they get shorter as they age?

as a rule --7 coming in----7 days in ---7 days going out
