I have a female that ison her 63 day of pregnancy, how many more days should I wait before I should start getting concerned? She looks like she could go at any minute but I have been thinking that for the last couple of days.

My vet told me 70 days then bring her in. But that don't stop you from walking the floor, lol. Eggs don't fertilize until 3 days after they drop. Male sperm will stay alive up to a week in the female.

70 would be the upper limit but I bet she does not go that long! Like Sally said, sperm surviving a week (max) in her body prior to conception plus 63 days = 70 days. I normally breed once when the female is flagging and obviously interested (ovulating?) and 63 days plus or minus one accounts for the majority of births. I had one litter at 56 and one at 68 but those were definitely not the norm in my experience! In fact, I normally breed after work and lots of my litters have been born about dusk on the 63 day. I have one now that is 64 days from the first breeding and 60 days from the second. The reason I breed twice was that 4 days after she was bred she was "humping" her female kennel mate and flagging rather than acting like she was coming out of season. She was not very interest the first time and I think the male caught her off-guard and managed to breed her. I am sure in my mind the first breeding was a miss! Good luck with those pups - they may be there as we speak!

Mine whelped TODAY! She had the first on around 2 PM. She has 4 right now and I think she may still have a couple of more to go. It was day 65 since the first breeding and day 61 since the second - not sure which breeding "took"!
