OK, I am stumped. One of the pups I helped arrange the sale for out of McClurg's kennels has been having health issues for a couple of months now. He is not yet a year old. He started out with a stiff neck. Then he seemed to get stiffened up like an old man. Moving slow, lethargic, bad breath. Didnt want to eat. Would stand in one spot and just sway. Off to the vet. Vet treated him for Lyme, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory. He seemed to get a little better for a couple of weeks. Then he seemed to go downhill again. Staggering, walking lopsided, stiff, lethargic. Back to the vet, another round of blood tests. This time the vet treated him for an inner ear infection, antibiotics and steroids. Bills now are over $600.
Once again he was getting a little better for the first few days, now he is starting to slide again. Skin looks good, gums look good. I have to admit I am stumped on this on, obviously so is the vet. Any ideas?

Ask the vet about erlichiosis(spelling not correct) it is a tick disease and Amoxicillan is the only thing that will work on it. That is what my best male had and I could get him over it but stress such as running or breeding would cause it to come back. It is my understanding now that nce they have it they always have it.

This syndrome is similar to Kawasaki disease in humans!! =========== WHAT does this mean they don't like Motorcycles! I read it and never heard of that BEFORE?

He is having trouble getting a diagnosis in this area. The vet he has been seeing wants him to take it to a NJ vet for an MRI at the cost of 3,000 to 4,000. Refuses to treat without a diagnosis. The poor pup now is having trouble working his front legs. When the vet put him on Steroids and antiinflammatory, he was better for a few days, but then slid worse then he was before. My heart breaks for the pup and the family.
