It does for me. They will grab on, but they don't stay long. I don't even bother with the 7 dust any more.

It was my impression that it did little to control ticks. However, my friend (who also uses the T&S) and I were talking last night on the phone and neither of us have had a tick problem with our beagles so far this year despite finding plenty of ticks on us. It must help at least a bit.

There are 3 diff. kinds of Bayer T&S that I know of. I use the Advanced and it works wonders in fleas & ticks, never had a problem.

I use 1 CC on my "grown" beagles. I personally would not use it on an 8 wk old pup! It might not hurt but I would not use it until the dog was AT LEAST six months old. I would use a LIGHT dusting of Sevin dust as needed (every two to three weeks) on the pup for the time being.

The ticks are UNREAL in my area. I sat 1 day and picked ticks off my 5 dogs. Probably got 5-10 ticks per dog. While dusting my male yesterday before running him I found 5 ticks on him. While running him I bet I spotted and picked off 10 ticks. While loading him I found at least another 10 or so on him. Not to mention the 5+ that I found on me. I have never noticed this many ticks before. It is unreal. I am going to get some Bayer T&S advanced like coolbrze uses and try it in my yard and on my dogs. Thanks for all the tips guys.

I buy it at Walmart for $15 but Home Depot and Lowes carry it for close to $20. It works well, and is very cost effective compared to Frontline Plus, which I've used for years and years and years.

Sally, it is in the lawn and garden section. The Bayer is in a primarily blue bottle. The last I bought was the "generic version" . I do not recall the brand but it was purchased at Wal-mart and the bottle was green.

It's in the lawn & garden dept.

I apply 1-1.5 cc for a 20 lb. beagle. I've heard of others using 3-4 ccs, but have never had the need to.
