PUNCTURE WOUNDS
MY 2 MALE BEAGLES GOT INTO A SERIOUS FIGHT.OF COURSE THE WORST RABBIT HOUND IS THE BEST FIGHTER.I CLEANED UP THE LOSER AND NOTICED A PUNCTURE WOUND ON THE TOP OF THE NECK AND A TOOTH PUNCTURE ON THE THROAT.THE WOUNDS WERE SMALL,BUT TODAY THE DOGS NECK IS SWOLLEN.ALMOST LIKE LARGE FLUID POCKETS UNDER THE SKIN.HE ACTS NORMAL AND DOES NOT HAVE ANY TROUBLE BREATHING OR SWALLOWING.WILL THIS TYPE OF SWELLING GO DOWN IN TIME?IS THERE A NEED FOR AN ANTIBIOTIC? WHAT TYPE?SHOULD THESE BE DRAINED BY A VET?

Punture wound
I had this happen just this last year with my little hound. My male must have pinned her. Took her to the vets in the morning because it was bleeding. They said it looked superficial. At 130 in the afternoon had to call back because it was swollen way out like an abcess. They put her on antibiotics and hot packs to reduce the swelling. Dog bites can get infected really easy. I would contact a vet. Hope this helps. Good luck!
