I have a young female around one year old. She has started holding her tail between her legs and walking funny on the back legs like somthing is wrong for two days now. She has not been in heat yet could she be starting?????

I am NOT an expert - but I DO have several females that have been bred - and none ever acted that way - if it were my dog I'd definitely take her to the vet just to be on the safe side - but then I'm a worrying mommy! I can think of several possible things other than her being in heat - none of my "girls" have ever acted like that in heat.

whatever was the conclusion???

Many years ago my aunt had a poodle that was acting similar to what you have described. Seems like she didn't tuck her tail, it just hung limp. She ended up having a neurological problem and eventually lost the use of her hind legs. She lived 6-7 years after that. She was very playful. She pulled herself along with her forelegs and drug her hind quarters along behind her. As best I can remember she was 8 or 9 when she died.

Hope this is not your dogs problem. Like beaglesmom suggested, maybe a trip to the vet may be in order.

Your dog may need her anal glands expressed! Take her to the vet or to a groomer if you don't know how to do this yourself.

That is the first thing I thought of.
Check the glands on each side and slightly below the anus for swelling or anything unusual.
I have had several dogs in the past that had problems with their gland swelling.

Ain't nothin' wrong w/ draining the anal gland, just make sure you aren't starring right at it when you squeeze it
