Any recommendations for vitamins, supplements or even anitbiotics for a beagle thats pads seem to be too soft. Always getting fine thorns in them when other dogs aren't. Frequent cuts also! Know about bleach treating from a dog several years ago, can't recall what vitamin was perscribed. Vet is no longer in business and having a hard time finding a vet knowledgable in working dogs in new area.
Thanks for your time!

Have you tried any of the commercially available pad toughening topicals? Might also try oral biotin supplementation or even feeding 1/2 packet of Knox gelatin every other day.

How often do you run the dog? How long? How long have you had him? What are your kennels like?

Had her 14 months now, run her about 3 times per week, 4-5 seems to cause trouble, she is in off ground kennel with plastic kennel grading floor in it. Perfectly dry, roof over it.

Curious...Are the footpads white that give her trouble?
