Doc S,

I've been reading about the use of Fenthion 20% (Spotton) for the control of ticks and fleas. Spotton is made by Bayer. I recently purchased a bottle for the control of these external parasites. I have no flea problem however the ticks remain. My question, is Fenthion good for the control of ticks or did I waste my money?

If it's useful does anyone know the proper dosage. I've been told 1cc for a 20-25lb beagle.

Fenthion dosage for ticks is different than for fleas. Stay away from it though at those doses. It can cause long term problems with the applicator as well as the animal.

Thanks a lot Doc. By the way, I was in a cattle supply store where I purchased the Spotton(which I'm getting rid of), I noticed a bottle of Permethin(check spelling) for cattle. Could this be used for dogs, if used in moderation. I've used Happy Jack Kennel Dip,for years. After reading the label I noticed that It too contained 17% Permethin. If I broke it down according to the weight of the animal, would it be safe?
