Yearly shot

Post by coolbrze »

Do many of you give a 7 way (or similar) shot yearly for each dog?

It will not hurt the dog.
I just give shots up to one year, or if I get the dog that I'm not sure about the vacination record I'll give them one.

Have you ever heard of a dog getting any of those diseases that are in the 7 in 1 shot that had ever been vacinated?

I'll see if I can find an article I read about this.
The article pretty much said that many of the vacinations only need to be given once in a lifetime (specifically rabies). Others had a different schedules.

Search google for "Dog vaccination research" or something similar.

From what I gather from most sites, a normal vaccination schedule after year 1 would be every 3 years, except kennel cough.

Here are some links I found on the subject. I couldn't find the research paper I read a while back. If I find it, I will post the link.
