Tapewormer
Has anyone ever used zimectrin or zimectrin gold horse wormer for your beagles ? If so what dose do you use. A whole tube will treet a 1250 lb horse.

I use the gold. I just put out enough for 200 lbs and use a knife to divide and smear it on the end of a hot dog. That amount treats 8 beagles. I do not try to dispense it directly into the dogs mouth because it comes out too fast. I heard a horror story about somebody over dosing a hound. It also has ivomec in it so your dogs should be heartworm free before you use it. If they have tapes they will pass them or round worms within 12 hours.
Where's the earth shattering kaboom ?

This chart maybe helpful:
1cc = 43lbs. to 51lbs.
9/10cc = 38lbs. to 46lbs.
8/10cc = 34lbs. to 41lbs.
7/10cc = 30lbs. to 36lbs.
6/10cc = 26lbs. to 31lbs.
5/10cc = 21lbs. to 26lbs.
4/10cc = 17lbs. to 21lbs.
3/10cc = 13lbs. to 15lbs.
2/10cc = 9lbs. to 10lbs.
1/10cc = 4lbs. to 5lbs.
I generally draw from the main tube into a measurable syringe, disperse correct dosage onto finger and smear on the tounge. I hate guessing.

Thanks guys for the info. will start them on it today. Another Question. Do you treat them only once ? Or does it require at least two or three treatments ? Then after you have the worms gone, do you do preventive maintanance ?
