For all you Frontline Plus tick/flea users... Do you find that it wears off a little earlier than the 30 days that they state? Several of us have seen ticks (living) on the dogs, but only at the end of the frontline cycle...

I can tell you that the fleas and ticks are building a resistance to the spot on products. I bath/groom dogs for a living and I see it everyday! Avid spot on users (don't miss a application day) having flea/tick problems. They just can't understand why their dog has fleas!
These products are kinda like medicine (antibiotics) so-to-speak, they work for a while, then the "bacteria" (fleas, what have you) build up a tolerance to the chemicals which renders them undependable.
I recommend that the owner switch up products every 6 months or so. Until new ones come out with different/new chemicals, we have to utilize many methods to keep them viable.
To help control fleas in and around my house I sprinkle 20 Mule Team Borax on my carpet/yard. This is very effective for controlling them and I do also use the spot ons, but only need to apply them about every 1 1/2 - 2 months on my house dogs. I rarely have ANY flea or tick problems on my outside beagles.

The fleas and tics will be genetically changing over time. The ones that are resistant to chemical survive to breed. The new bunch then will not be susceptible to the chemical. That is why there is always something new coming along just as Bunny Runner says.

If your dogs are outside dogs, like mine our. I just sprinkle 7 dust in side there boxes. I run my dogs a lot so they have a better chance of getting fleas and ticks.
I just put it in there boxes once a week and don't have any flea or ticks problems.

Be careful with 7 dust I dusted one of my dogs with it and it all most kill him. He licked the dust off his feet. The vet says never used 7 dust on your dog it has the potental to kill it.
