Running On Day Of Mating

Post by Keystone Kid »

As far as the male is concerned, I’ve heard it kills a large percentage of the sperm when you run them hard near mating time. Supposedly when their internal temperature increases, this is what does the damage to the sperm. I’ve also heard that it takes around 72 hrs for the sperm in a male dog to rebuild to full supply. What are other’s opinions on this?

Has anyone heard if it’s bad to run the female that you’re having bred, on the day of Mating?

Any female I'd run in full blown heat would have no problem getting bred I'm sure.

As for as the males, that's why the jewels are sacked... ;)
The internal body temp is to warm for the sperm to live...

How many sperm will fit on the head of a needle, mind you, it only takes one sperm for each of the half dozen or so eggs a bitch will let down each cycle... ;)
