dog swallowing gum?

Post by Dexter »

Hey fellow beaglers,

Has anyone ever had any problems with a dog getting ahold of some gum and swallowing it? I have a nearly 3 year old recovering at the Vet's right now from surgery to remove a very sticky and tough substance from it's intestines! He was stopped up and was getting very sick. Thankfuly I got him to the vet and as far as we can tell the surgery was successful! The vet wasn't sure what he had ingested but the only thing I could think of was possibly some gum from one of my neices or nephews who had gone to look at the 'pups' about a week earlier!
If anyone has ever heard of this or has had an experience, please share with the board. I nearly lost my dog and it will be a pretty expensive tab when I go pick him up tomorrow! I just wanted to share this with others so it can be prevented from happening to someone else! Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from y'all. God Bless! Dexter dexterc@flash.net
