cherry eye

does anyone know how this is started and how to cure it. it started as a mild eye infection and then just got cherry red

It's inherited if it's cherry eye. I'd have a vet look at it to make sure it's cherry eye. If it's cherry eye there's 2 cures cut it out or have a vet suture it back into place. I highly recommend having the surgery over just cutting it out. Once cut out the dog can get dry eye and need drops daily. I'd rather pay a bit more and not have to mess with it or drops again.
