Slippery Elm bark works good for bronchial and gastrointestinal problems. It comes in capsule form and you open the capsule and add it to some canned food. Use a whole capsule for an average size beagle (25lbs). This is an herbal remedy that eases the symptoms, but doesn't cure it. I mostly has to run it's course. You can find it in health food stores or vitamin shops.
Many people I know use Albon for kennel cough, but I am not a big advocate of using antibiotics frequently. If you do choose to use an antibiotic, use the whole course, and then follow up with a probiotic (yogurt) to normalize the Gastrointestinal tract.
