I had a fecal test done today on a 8 week old pup that had a little mucus and blood in his stool a couple of times. The test came back negative for parasites and I was told to just keep a eye on him to make sure it goes away. the pup is up to date on worming and shots. Has this happened to anyone before?

This had happend to me a few times stool could be to hard for dog to push out and that could make it that way also if you switched dog foods.

Yup, was gonna say it can be caused by straining. I have done the same thing and that is what the vet told me. I was pretty worried. God luck with your pup.

Have your vet give you the ALBON mix for puppies. Give him a dropper full each day for 10 days should clear it up... the heat an the stress of weaning is hard on puppies, don't let him get down and loose his apatite...
