puppy pants alot

5 mo old puppy pant's alot in the house ..like he's hot..i will look over and he will be panting with his tongue hanging out..
is this normal?

A lot of high-drive dogs do this. I had a beagle once that panted pretty frequently, but we never thought it was a health problem, and it never turned out to be one.

The dog could be having a hard-time regulating body heat, which could be due to a thyroid problem. A vet can check it easily.

Is this an outside dog that's being brought in for a visit? If so, he could very well be hot if he's acclimated to the outdoors. Another explanation could be that if he's normally an outside dog, he may be nervous to the sights and sounds of being indoors and dogs will pant when they're nervous.
