I just read an article about a hospital treating a woman who had ingested antifreeze by accident by having her drink whisky ever hour for 24 hours http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/artic ... E_ID=30261 and was wondering if this is a potential emergency antidote for your beagle if you CANNOT get to a Vet right away? Of course I never drink, so a vet would always be just as close . . . just wondering if this is valid info for dogs or not?

Hey kidspot! I had a beagle get into anti-freeze once, I took her right to the vet. The antidote was to put her on an alcohol IV until she came out of the danger. I was told this doesn't always work and sometimes may kill the dog. My point is if you cant get to the vet soon and you are sure that your dog has ingested anti-freeze then I would surely try to save the dog with the alcohol treatment.
Oral ingestion will not be as fast as IV but it may just save your dog.
