The only reason that I said to wear Gloves is the to keep the smell of the Lotion so you do not smell like the Lotion all the time, as it does not smell good and it will get in your skin.

I was told not to advertize it and I am doing what they asked, that is why it is not on my web site. The Pink Ointment is $18.00 and the Blue Ointment is $24.00 when I have it. Horn got caught up in some fence wire this summer, came in and had his left rear leg girdled dang near the bone at the hock, I was afraid he was gonna loose the foot. I used the blue spritz stuff and the gentle iodine on it twice a day, he licked at it but it grew flesh and hide back and now only a little missing hair shows the scar.
Keep your dill pickle juice or go out and get you some walnut hulls and cover them with water in a bucket, this is good treatment for the foot and pad.
tell me more about the dill pickle method
Re: Thoughts on Blue-Kote/pink ointment
I never knew,
When I was little, I would help my grandmother can pickles. We would put salt, vinegar, dill and top off with water.
My great uncles would use the juice on their coon hounds feet for cuts sores and to toughen them up.
I think the acidity and the brine did the trick. When I went to England, packs would take the hounds along the ocean shores for exercise, said the salt water was good for healing and the toughening the pads.
Now, it seems to all make more sense.

TIME is the best Healer..
I use the EMT Gel alot When they first get Cut or Injured to Stop the bleeding and seal the wound up..Seems like it heals faster also..As far as the Licking i have some that Will lick it off and some that wont.I Always blow on it for a bit to help it dry some before I let em loose..
I Also use the blue kote on their ears for bigger areas or lick wounds Hot spots ect when i aint got no nu-Stock So havn't used it in years LOL
NOW as far as the Pickle juice..
many Years ago my ol Chance Dog (Couch Dog now) used to get his feet tore up all the time running on the snow and ice After 10 min of runnin you could follow him by the blood trail he left behind and soon he would slow up and start limping..
I Asked on here What i could do..
Alabama john answered me Told me Dill Pickle juice, I thought ok here we go An ol timer puttin one on the newbe...But i tried it after talkin it over with an ol Cat hunter i knew.I Soaked his feet in dill picle juice every night for 10 to 15 min for a month..
I have NEVER ever seen his feet tore up or bleed again. When we got our New kennel s set up here in Ky the concrete was still a little Green and a couple of our newer hounds were getting Sore feet from it At least that is what i contributed it to!!
I did the Dill pickle juice again and NO More trouble..
Take it for what it is Worth But i use it Cause it Works.....
Oh Buy the Way the Pink stuff for Sled dogs Works great also!!!!
healing needs to start from Whithin from the inside out is always the best.....
Just an Added PS
We all Know that Vinegar is a natural healer for all different types of infections and the Dill will help Dry it out they have used Salt as a curative for centuries to help dry out and preserve..
Maybe a combination of all....
Another thing that we have LEARNED over the years..
Powdered Alum Will cure licking

JOEY ----don't use super glue --after after a day has gone by ---what you will be doing is locking bacteria into the foot --plus if the dog can lick it the glue will let it open back up ----USE A CONE COLLAR
ALWAY GO BY THE RULES AND NEVER A PROBLEM
Re: Thoughts on Blue-Kote/pink ointment
his is just chilling in the kennel. surprised he don't cry like a baby when I leave in the morning and not take him. quiet as a church mouse which is good.
Waiting on the pink stuff. should be here soon.
I have no need to use super glue nothing to super glue back together.
