Joey, three days of penicillian at 1 1/2 to 2 cc's because you dont know what caused the wound and the blue kote will do just fine. May want to try some bag a balm salve it comes in a can, people used to use it on horses that got cut. Give the dog a chance to heal before you aggravate the cut again.

Joey the sled dog salve will not only cure their feet it will keep it from happening again if you use it. I had a dog that his feet were hard and calloused after being laid up. When I ran him hard they would split and his feet stayed sore. I put the medicine on it and it was the end of the problem. It will cause all the old dead skin to go away and keep the skin on the feet soft and supple and it allows them to stay in good shape. I used the blue cote before that and the feet stayed hard and never got any better. If you want to end foot problems buy the sled dog salve and your problems are over once and for all.

Hey Joey, I've used Blue-Kote for many years, made for cattle, but works good on any wound. It does tend to dry the wound. The first thing to remember about pad injuries is that it takes a LONG time to heal. Take the dog out before wound has healed completely and you'll open it up and then start from square one again. Time is, no doubt, the best healer. A pad will appear to be OK and healed well, run the dog for an hour and it's open again. Time- time, will be the answer. JMO ;)

The pink stuff is great and I have not used gloves but your hand will smell like the ointment for a little bit. Great stuff to use on the dogs feet.

he is laid up for now. didn't even take him this morning. i just got back home a little bit ago. I looked at each paw. looks like all his paws look dry? few little cracks here and there but nothing deep. he's got dry paws for some reason? i guess i'll put that pink stuff on each paw to moisten them up a bit. i'll have to look at my other dogs paws too see what they look like and compare.

he'll stay penned up cause i'll need him when hunting gets good.

it was aweful hot this morning. felt like the 80's temp wise.

so he can stay put in the kennel for now till he heals up that rear paw.

that pink ointment shipped today i should get it early next week. see how it works.

Joey I have the Stuff that Bobby is talking about, but I am out of the Blue only have the Pink right now. I was told not to advertize it and I am doing what they asked, that is why it is not on my web site. The Pink Ointment is $18.00 and the Blue Ointment is $24.00 when I have it. It is on Order now andthe Blue will be about 3 weeks getting here.

While your waiting on your $30 a tube stuff, smear you a little bacon grease on it, licking is good.

Horn got caught up in some fence wire this summer, came in and had his left rear leg girdled dang near the bone at the hock, I was afraid he was gonna loose the foot. I used the blue spritz stuff and the gentle iodine on it twice a day, he licked at it but it grew flesh and hide back and now only a little missing hair shows the scar.

Keep your dill pickle juice or go out and get you some walnut hulls and cover them with water in a bucket, this is good treatment for the foot and pad.

Ed Brown that is one of the reasons I like the lotion so much. The recovery time is amazing. I have read the ingredients on the pink lotion. What does it have in it that can harm humans?

Your right Ed, the foot heals from the inside out, you don't want it to heal from the outside-in or it bust open again. ;)
