Re: Ivermectin
I bit the bullet and bought a 12 pack of Frontline from a store in Australia for $118.00 shipped. It is for X-Large dogs so I can treat 4 beagles per dosage.
I will be using Ivomec for heart worms prevention. Looks like the way to go.
Lot of good info on this board and great input. Learn new stuff here all the time.

Re: Ivermectin
ED --the pill is ONLY a carrier for the the liquid ---the pill is for a special size dog ----the liquid might be in the one half and none in the other ----in other words one or more dogs might not get any wormer ---that is why they say buy the right size of pill for you dogs weight
ALWAY GO BY THE RULES AND NEVER A PROBLEM
Re: Ivermectin
I believe you misunderstood Ed, Frontline is not in pill form it is a liquid you put between the dogs shoulders

Re: Ivermectin
Yep, the Frontline I buy is a liquid form. I just draw it out with a syringe and distribute it out between 4 adult dogs. I have been doing this for a year or so and it seems to work pretty good. No flea problems. I have found that fleas are a real problem in Ohio so it is necessary to use the best product and so far I have not found anything better than Frontline. Again, I will be using Ivomec for heart worm prevention. Can't beat the economics of it.

Re: Ivermectin
Gold is a waste of your money because you can get Equimax for the same price and it has twice the praziquantel content. That 's why you are buying because the ivomec itself only costs about a third as much.
Leah, shoot 2 clicks of Equimax down a beagle's throat which is about 1/2 a cc. This will give about 70 mg of praziquantel which is the drug of choice for all types of tapeworms. Some of mine won't eat canned dog food, for the ones that will I put the dose in a ball of canned food and they swallow it.
You need to tapeworm again in a month or so because there will be larval stage worms that the med will not get. Tapes are not a big health hazard to dogs but I don't like parasites in my dogs at all.
Vet med and human meds are 2 of the biggest ripoffs in our world. I just got back from the doctor and the pharmacy and both made me feel like I had been robbed at gunpoint. There has to be something done. We might as well send half our stimulus payment right to big oil and the other half to big medicine because they are going to get it anyway.
