10 pounds hamburger meat [the cheapest kind]
1 lg. box of Total cereal
1 lg. box oatmeal
1 jar of wheat germ
1 1/4 cup veg oil
1 1/4 cup of unsulfured molasses
10 raw eggs AND shells
10 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
pinch of salt
Been going through the same thing with one of my dogs. wormed her doubled her feed changed her feed and still no better. she drinks alot of water so I finally took her to the vet yesterday for blood work. I have to take a urine sample tomorrow. they are thinking diabetes or cancer all other test showed normal. I will know more hopefully in a day or so
i went through that with a 3 yr old male.wormed him for tape worms.and that did not help.change feed .went to ol roy in brown bag ,double feed and with in a week i can tell a difference.did not hunt him for that week.he looks really good right now.(amount of feed is 8 cups).mabe this will work for you.all of my other dogs look good on 3 cup of the same feed.hope this works

Are you feeding him 8 cups a day? Or did I read that wrong???
My best dog is like that. I use all kinds of tricks to get her to eat. She is parasite free as are all my dogs. She gets all the canned dog food she will eat plus kibble feed mixed with scraps and gravy. I have some pups from her and they are skinny as a rail too. If they will produce the rabbits and run them like their dam does I will put up with it. Easy keepers that don't perform are a dime a dozen.

Here is a website that gives smaller portion recipes as well as feeding instructions. I honestly have never had to feed it other than to 2 newfs that were here once years ago. Those dogs were such poor eaters we actually had to "stuff" them with it. I like the fact my beagles eat and lick the bowl clean!! LOL
Why not try the mac n' cheese for a week and see if that helps and then try the satin balls if that fails.
Gonna change his feed to something higher in fat and give mac & cheese and see what happens. Thanks for all your help. I'll keep you posted on his progress.
8 CUPS???? Even 3 cups a day is more then even my Labs eat. A good quality kibble does not require as much quantity. Holy cow, if all my dogs ate that much I would be having to sell off dogs.
The female Patch in the middle on the right was pregnant at the time. But you can see the general weights of the 5 dogs and coat conditions. That particular week I was feeding Canidae, but that was a temporary fix as the dealer was out of stock that week.

I'm not one to knock a guy if he wants to feed his dog 8 cups a day. I run my dogs 5-6 days a week too and they do good on 1-1/2 cups a day. I just have a ? for shotgunner. Is there a lot of clean-up on 8 cups a day. I would think there would be, but I've never fed that chow before.
Some dogs are skinny just like people , haven't you ever seen a person that could eat anything and everything and still stay skinny and for me I can eat a biscuit and gain 5 lbs.Metabalism is that the right spelling?

Yeah, I have, but this dog looks down right anorexic!!!! But he eats and acts normal. Changed the feed and added "house food". Now will wait and see. If no better shortly, it's off to the vet.
I have always fed my dogs all they wanted as long as they don't get too fat. If they want to eat 8 cups a day they will get 8 cups a day. Now if they get too heavy it's cutback time. I have had that happen on free choice feeders. They stand there and eat all day and get way too fat. I can cure fat a lot easier than I can cure skinny.
Could you enlighten me?
