bad eye

Post by michwolv »

I have an 14 month old female a got from a good friend and she got her eye scratched by her brother when she was a younger pup and now it is half covered with a skin at the bottom and when i pull her eye open all the way i can see her eye ball but it is kinda clouded over, what should i do? Will she just be blind or is there something i could do?

Take her to the vet. I had a male that got junk in his eye when running and he kept scratching and rubbing at it until he got the 3rd eye lid infected. The whole side of his head swelled up and his eye looked milky just as you described. Took him to the vet and got a shot in the eye and some ointment and it cleared it up. Just because the eyeball is scratched doesn't mean the dog is blind. I thought he was too but he wasn't but she does need to go to the vet.

I waited awhile to take mine to the vet also. I kept thinking he just had scratched his eye and it would clear up but it didn't. The vet said that sometimes they get an irritation or infection in the 3rd eye. I would take her to the vet and he will be able to tell you then and there if she is blind.
