Who adds Fish Oil Caps?

Post by InTrapTrap »

Seems like a read about giving hounds fish oil caps as a supplement to help with hair and coat. Anyone do this? What dosage?

Thanks,

We purchase bottles of Fish Oil Capsules 1000mg at Walmart (in the human vitamin section), $6 for two bottles (200 capsules). We give ours 1 capsule for each 10lbs of body weight every day and double the dosage for dogs with allergies or joint problems. It has worked great for us, been using them for around seven years now. They seem to always have sleek coats, clean ears and very few allergies.

Thanks for the info. I started giving my hounds one 1,000 unit cap twice a week. I didn't know if I should give more than that or not. I'm just after the "slick" looking coat.
