9 seems a little old for breeding, in my opinion. She is your dog...

bredding an older bitch

I have bred many older females (8-10 yrs old ) most of the time I had great success. I strongly advise you drop her weight to good shape and excercise her enough to keep her in top shape. Breeding any overweight older hound male or female drops you odds of sucess / especially whelping.

i never bred a 9 yr old bitch.....i havent gone past 6 or 7 myself.....
i would however, strongly advise dropping the weight down on her and checking with your vet after she is in shape.....the extra weight will make her very uncomfortable if bred.....remember how big she got with all those pups before? now add to that the weight she has gained now....

hope this helps....

good luck....
