Breeding Trouble
I have a female going on 8 years old. She has never been bred, but I tried once before. She took the male, but had a false pregnancy. She got milk and everything, but never no pups. I have just bred her again to try again. She is my best dog and I would love to get some pups from her. I bred her approximately 10 days after she started bleeding. Is this the right time? What can I do to help her to have the pups?
Re: Breeding Trouble
I had my bitch bred on day 11 after I noticed first sign of blood. We bred her once waited 3 hours then bred her again. My vet told me day 10 and 11 are best. That was all I drove home from kentucky. She took and is as big as a house right now. Suppose to have pups in another 6 days or so.

joey just wondering if sperm keeps for 24 to 72 hours why would you bred then wait 3 hours and then bred again. i mean from the first time to the second time with in 3 hours apart it still just 3 hours right.
i don't know just wondering. i just drove to kentucky also and bred 1 time and im hopeing she took i thought it kept 24 to 72 hours.

Well both bobby vest and I agreed to do it that way cause I couldn't stay a night in kentucky. so we let them breed twice to get a double shot in there. It worked.
