Horse wormer

Post by RHYRE »

I know a lot of you guys use horse wormer on your dogs. I was thinking of giving it a try but not sure what kind to use. I was told about a wormer called Anthelcide. Has anyone ever used this? How much should I use and how often? I am getting tired of paying high dollar for wormer at the vet. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

I use Equimax and there is two types of it. I use the more expensive one with both ingredients at about $12.00 a tube.

It has a syringe tube that is calibrated in a series of what I call clicks. I put one click on a piece of bread about the size of 1.4 piece of loaf bread. Fold it over. Make several like this that do not have any wormer on them and throw to the dogs. They will soon swallow them whole. Then throw the wormer one. They'll never taste it. Gets everything and keeps fleas and ticks from biting also. I get fleas from others dogs but they don't drink mines blood and reproduce. Ticks get all on them from the woods but leave as they too do not stick the dogs.

Alabama John,
Do you worm once a month with this? Anything to help keep the fleas and ticks off.

I only worm from about April to October, just the months that flies are out. Nothing in cold months.
I recommend the Equimax that also has the horse blood sucking Bot fly repellent in it as that is what helps with fleas and ticks too.
Cost about $12.00 a tube and that has lots of clicks that worms a lot of dogs.

My vet recommends panacur. Safe Guard is the same thing. The formula is Wt. in # divided by 2.2 times 50 divided by 100 = number of ml or cc daily for 3 days. This comes out to 2.25 cc daily for three days for a 10# dog. You can get a gallon for about $390 and this lasts me about a year for 15 dogs. It gets everything except heartworms. tapes whips round and hook worms.
chase em then waste em
