I have a gyp whose heat cycles ran in feb and aug. A year ago right now, she was in heat and I had her bred. That was her first pregnancy. She carried a litter of two to term, but they died at birth. I didn't pay attention when she came into heat this past summer. I thought she'd have been in heat by now, but she isn't. will a pregnancy throw any future heat cycles off of the schedule that the dog used to have?
thanks

Re: pregnancy/heat cycles
Yes on some females it will. Some of my females don't come in season for 2 months later then they would have if not having pups, but then again some of them will go in season 4 months after whelping pups. It all depends on that females own time clock.nb11 wrote:I have a gyp whose heat cycles ran in feb and aug. A year ago right now, she was in heat and I had her bred. That was her first pregnancy.
