Worming pregnant female?

Post by Fingerling »

My pregnant female looks a little poor. Her spine is showing a little. Is this normal for a female to look when she is about 5 weeks along? Should I worm her? I wormed her before she was bred but I've hunted her alot since then and I am afraid she might have got worms? Any help is surely appreciated.

According to my vet book:
Panacur is a deworming agent effective against roundworms, hookworms and whip worms. It is safe to use during pregnancy. It is a good practice to deworm expectant mothers during the last two weeks of gestation and during lactation(while pups are nursing). This reduces environmental exposure to roundworm eggs and helps to control puppy roundworm infection. :D
Good luck.
