Need some help...Dog has worms

Post by Joeyman »

My male dog has worms. I noticed it this past weekend while out hunting. He took a crap and a worm was hanging there on his rear. It was white about an inch long and was moving = scrunching up and then stretching out.

A little later he went again and this time I saw about 4 worms in the stool. It was pretty disgusting.

When I got home I gave him some Nemix-2. How many more times to I give it to him. Is it every other day or week. I'm lost. Don't know what to do.

Is there a better wormer I can use.

This morning he woke me up barking I look outside and he couldn't poop he was circling around and around trying to go. He eventually went. I didn't get a chance to see what came out.

Sounds more like a tape if it shrinks down from an inch long. In which case Nemex will not work. Nemex takes care of hook and round worms.

To be sure bring a stool sample to you vet. If it is tapes Droncit is the wormer that will work (Praziquantel)

Good luck.
