Problem With An Eye

Post by beaglesarethebest »

Ella is squinting her one eye..it doesn't seem to bother her (she isn't itching it) she was fine when she woke up than her & Ty My other beagle did the whole wrestling match thing and than my youngest son noticed her eye was squinting. there was no drainage or abnormal stuff coming out of her eye earlier but now there is a little bit...I was looking on the internet for information but can't seem to find anything.

I would have taken her to the vet but they are closed for the weekend. And to take her in with cost me $85 just for the vet to see her. that doesn't inclued anything she will need.

Did maybe Ty scratch it and it should be better by tomorrow or so? Anyone that can help I would aprieate it.

I wish I was that lucky. Had one get a "s" hook that holds the plastic door cover caught in her eyelid. My daughter found her, she went hysterical, and scared the dog that much more. By the time the wife and our neighbor got to the kennel she had torn herself free. But not before she ripped her eyelid from mid eye to the outter corner.

I took her to the vet the next morning after I got home from work. 8 stitches and my checking account $100+ lighter we were sent home with instructions that she was allowed to play with the other pups, but only while being supervised. Well being obediant to insturctions I let her play with the other pups while I watched. The first thing I watched was the stitches get torn out.

It has been over a week and a half now. Her eyelid doesn't look too good, but it doesn't seem to be bother her at all. Her eye has stayed moist and hasn't glazed over.

Sorry to hear about your dog's eye. I wish you good luck with the healing process. But sometimes if it wasn't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all.
