ticked puppies

does the mom or dad have to have ticks on them to throw pups that are ticked? thanks

Genetics, especially in terms of coat color, were never my long suit. I am sure there are others on here that can answer this better than I. Doc S

i bred a blue ticked male to a tri colored female and the dogs had vary few ticks. I bred a tri colored male to a ticked female and the pups have lots of tics. There was 6 pups and three are ticked more then the others.
