hacking

Benadryl If you are giving pills, 1 pill per 25 lbs of body weight. I give pills, easier to shove a pill down em or give it in a treat. I also use the store brand benadryl for the dogs... cheaper and works just as good. Keep this in mind too for the next time one gets stung by a bee and has a baseball sized goose egg on their head from it.

Can you give Benadryl to a gyp that is about 36 days pregnant. She is doing some Hacking. A fellow beagler told me that it was probably allergys. About all of the dogs have been doing some of it. But it is not to bad. and Benadryl helped them.

Danny if all your dogs is hacking I would suspect kennel cough... I think I would be taking her to the vet and get her some antibiotics that are safe for a pregnant dog.

You need to get rid of it before the pups are born or you may put them in jeopardy...
From Field to Show and Show to Field the way it should be

I took her to the vet this morning. The Vet put her on antibiotics. He said it is nothing to worry about. Just bleach out my kennels. I am going to do it now and I will do it agian in about a week or two. Thanks for the advice TC.

Kennel cough is dog flu.
Once they have it, it has to run its course.
My dogs had it in April.
Two dogs were over it in a week, one took about 3 weeks.

Antibiotics won't help the flu virus, but will prevent them from getting a secondary infection (sore throat, strep, etc.).
