Re: warts
Check out this site http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_ca ... lomas.html are they like this? If so, they will usually go away by themselves but, they are highly contageous to other dogs and will spread like wildfire. One of the ways I've heard to rid them of them quicker is to crush one off with forceps and then feed it back to the dog (I know GROSS) but, it stimulates the immune system. Another one is L-Lysine which is something you can get at wal-mart in the health/vitamin section. One good thing about it, they don't get these again but, you should not have the dog in contact with other dogs.Creek beagles wrote:he has one on the edge of his bottom lip

I have had some to have warts in the mouth area before. They just suddenly appear and often disappear just as quickly. Although they are caused by a virus and are technically "contagious", I have seen no evidence in my kennel that they are highly contagious. I normally quarantine those I see with a wart but I am sure some have them come and go before I even see them if they are inside the mouth or otherwise hidden. I had a female with one and I was going to try the "crush and eat" method but I tried a B vitamin shot (I think Alabama John recommended that but I am not sure). Anyhow, the wart was gone with a few days of the shot so I never had to do the "crust and eat" method.
