Adult dog booster and nubmer of shots for pups

Post by Rob »

I just aquired a 4 yr old hound that has not had any shots since the puppy shot series. Can I just give a booster and be ok or do I have to give a series of shots to get him up to speed.

Just another question because I am asking, I usually give four 7 in 1 puppy booster shots starting at 6 weeks old. I was recently reading the directions on some shots I bought from Jeffers. It says starting at 6 six weeks, give shot every 2-3 weeks until 12 weeks old. Which could be 3 or 4 shots depending on if you give in 2 or 3 week intervals.

Is three 7 in 1 "Puppy Boosters" sufficient?

Thanks in advance.

I would give the four year old two vaccines 3-4 weeks apart. As for puppies, in general they should be vaccinated every 3-4 weeks from 6 until 16 weeks of age with a good quality vaccine. Doc S
