I just started using this stuff called Bronco Fly Spray for horses. You can get it at TSC. It says right on the bottle u can use it for dogs. And it keeps away all these flies + ticks. It was like $5 for a quart with a spray nozzle. They had a gallon for like $15 but I wanted to try it out first. It also has citronella in it so it smells good.
I'll let ya know how it works.

I've been using Frontline Plus. I feel it's safer for dogs and the humans that handle them. Very affordable if you take time to think about it. The Frontline Plus six month supply for a 22lb dog cost me $53.87 delivered to my door. This equals out to $8.97 per dog per month. What happened to affordable! Let's turn the page and try again.
The Frontline Plus six month supply for large dogs ( 89-132lbs ) cost me $60.55 delivered to my door.
Each once a month tube for the 22lb. dog has .67 ml of Frontline Plus in it.
Each once a month tube for the Large dog (89-132lb.) dog has 4.02 ml of Frontline Plus in it. Divide .67 into 4.02 and you get 6. So you can treat 6 beagles with one large dog (89-132lbs.) tube. This means you can treat 6 beagles for six months for $60.55 or $1.68 per month per dog.
I am not a vet and am I not playing one on this forum. This is what works for me. I empty the tube of Frontline Plus into a small bottle and use a 1 cc syringe with NO NEEDLE to measure and apply approx. .67 ml to each dogs neck at the shoulder blades.
Last summer my yard was infested with fleas. I had some sand hauled in to fill some stump holes. I figure thats where they came from. They didn't bother the dogs as they had Frontline Plus on them. A flea would get on them every now and then but nothing bad. If I walked in my yard with white socks and shorts I would have a hundred or so on me in a few mins. I tried sevn dust, malithion, and several other products, they seemed to get worse. I tried the Bayer Advance Tree and Shrub. Used a garden hose sprayer and soaked the yard good. NO MO fleas at my house. Hope this will help someone as flea season approaches.
