Here is one all the cocker spaniel people use. http://www.rescuepoint.com/articles/200 ... ears.shtml I put any dog with a raging ear infection on amoxicillin as well for 7 days. 200mg twice a day.dryhorn2 wrote:Whats some home remedies to curing ear infection? Windkist, I tried the mixture on the link you posted for the Blue Power ear treatment. I have a 9 year old blue tick beagle that has had ear trouble most of his life. I have 8 hounds in all, and he's the only one I've ever had this kind of trouble with. When he started to scratch his ears this time, I tried this solution following the dosage schedule listed, along with amoxicillian and it worked like a charm. He also had a small hot spot on his rear ankle and it cleared that right up as well. I was at the vet with this dog on the morning I got married because he had a severe ear infection. Trust me, I've spent a ton on this problem at the vets office. This solution has made a believer out of me for sure! Thank you for the post!
You are most welcome and I'm so glad it worked. Having owned and bred cocker spaniels for a lot of years it came in handy more than once! Its always mixed here and ready to use ;-)Beagleman63 wrote:Windkist, I tried the mixture on the link you posted for the Blue Power ear treatment. Don't know that this will help you, but my oldest male came to me with an ear infection - and had several in the first few months of his life - after I changed his food he never had another - vets used to say most infections in "floppy earred dogs" were caused by dampness - NOW they seem to think most are caused by allergies. Corn and wheat are allergens for many dogs - and the ONLY problems I've had (I have 9 beagles) are with dogs I've "rescued" and come to me with infections. After switching to a NON wheat/corn based food, no more problems here.
