Several of my dogs have balding patches on thier ears, which doesn't seem to bother them but looks terrible! The areas are dry and don't seem to itch. Someone told me that it was from the dogs ears getting wet when running, another said it was a fungus from briars. Any suggestions on what this fungus is or what else it could be or how to treat it?
Thanks SOOOOO Much!

As long as you are SURE it is not mange, it is not a big deal. Dew poisoning should clear up on its own in the fall. If it is "dry", it is not likely to be fungal - that is normally "moist". Personally, I would do a skin scrape to check for mites to rule out mange. If that is negative, I would spray the spots with Sardex II or blue lotion spray twice a week and keep running them.

If it is bacterial, yeast, or fungal, you can treat with apple cider vinager. Mix 50/50 with water and saturate the areas 2x per day. It also makes a great ear cleaner and body rinse.
Apple cider vinager is too acidic to promote the growth of bacteria, yeast, or fungus', so this should essentially clear it up.
