Where to give Rabies Shot

A Rabies vaccination can go either IM (intermuscular) or SubQ (subcuetaneous). Either way will work fine. If giving an IM injection, you must be careful that you do not inject into a vein or artery. To check this, pull back on the plunger slightly after inserting the needle into the muscle. If you don't see blood, you are fine.
I would recommend that if you are not familiar with giving IM injections, that you give it SubQ.
