Ear Infections

A friend of mine bought a beagle pup from me a few months ago, and he called me this morning and asked if Ihad problems with any of my pups getting ear infections. I told him I had never had any problems with mine (I have three from the same litter, my Dad has one and a friend has the final two from the litter that don't have any problems as well).

Well his pup has had three in the last four months - the first two the vet diagnosed as yeast infections and the last one as a bacterial infection. He further stated that the vet now thinks this may be diet related. Could this be true? I've never had problems with dogs getting ear infections. Has anyone out there had similar problems with dogs/pups getting ear infections? Thanks
