Blue and White contest????
Moderators: Pike Ridge Beagles, Aaron Bartlett
Yes Vicki, we are a fan of Goes Blue hounds, that one pup he had out here last winter had awsome gait. It's conformation was pretty durned good too! Nut is a very nice hound as well. I think the pup I am refering to was Pita. The angles on that pup was to die for and the movement was like watching an icescater... Just fascinating to watch that pup move. He has been getting some really nice pups, and his dogs are awsome to watch in the field too. We will surely miss not having him out here to run with this season.
From Field to Show and Show to Field the way it should be

Keith,
Usually when the pups are born with the blue color it will darken as they get older. Some the only way you can really tell is their noses are a slate gray. I was with a buddy of mine visiting a kennel in KY once. Looked like a kennel of tri colors until I saw that slate gray nose. Beautiful! When they are pups the pads of their feet are the same color as their noses. Im not sure if they stay the same as they mature.
Ya Welcome Cannonball.

Hi Keith,
If you go to the first page, I posted a couple of pictures with blue pups next to normal tri-color pups. It is very hard to photograph the blue color. They are sometimes quite dark. When you see them in person, though, you can tell they are a different color. I'm with you, I don't see it in some of the photos, but I have no doubt that they are blue.

I don't seem to get it either!
They all look like tri's to me. The color I have always thought of as blue was the color of the fellas hound on here that is Risng Sun bred. I need an AKC ruling on this one someday!
What is the color they think of as true blue. Maybe there should be a contest here for "Blue nose hounds" !
