Re: Coccidia , one time dose.
Good info. This medication sounds very good with no side effects. I would suggest everyone who owns dogs should educate themselves on all parasites and treatments for them. (Could save you a bunch on vet bills) This particular one is pretty nasty, had to deal with it once before. JMHO

Re: Beagle Pain Syndrome/immune mediated-arteritis
Had a beagle that was diagnosed with this about 10 years ago. I was told it is genetic and would most likely be passed on to a high percentage of offspring if the dog was bred. I would not advise breeding your dog, but you can research it further and decide what you want to do. I saw gradually that ...

Re: Poor mans sport just got poorer
That nerve gas must have made those deer genetic freaks to grow as big as you claim, never heard of a deer that big (500lbs). I hope you were being sarcastic about the size of the buck your friend shot. Hope the nerve gas hasn't gotten to you. If the rabbits grow like you claim the bucks do you bett...

Re: Favorite brand of leather hunting boots?
I agree Jim. Have had good luck in the past with the Cabela's Outfitter boots, but since they shipped the manufacturing of them to China, I think the quality is not what it used to be. I have a pair of the Mendl boots which have held up as far as waterproofing for the last 1-1/2 yrs, but the style a...

Re: females 64th day and no pups
Mine had hers starting at 3:30am this morning of course. Noticed green stuff on papers, not good, and after quite a while she started having it backwards and it was hung up pretty good. Finally helped her some and she got it out, not breathing no placenta. After holding it upside down for a minute o...

Re: females 64th day and no pups
Have done some research on gestation period for dogs just to ease my mind also. If the female was bred a little earlier than the eggs were ready it can throw the counting days from tie method off a few days. The male's sperm can live in the female for several days and then fertilize the eggs when th...

Re: females 64th day and no pups
My female is on her 63rd day today from first tie, 62nd from 2nd tie, only locked them up those two days. Yesterday her temp went down to 99.4 so I brought her in my basement to a whelping pen. Basement is around 70 degrees, but have a heat lamp and keep it around 86 under the lamp. This morning her...

Mo. Beagler 5000 and MDBeagler: Not looking to get in a pissing match, but 56 men signed the Declaration of Independence 24 of which held seminary or bible school degrees. And yes, many terrible things were done to other human beings, I'm not sure it was due to their religion however, just the evil ...

Re: Dogs names not allowed anymore?
Wow! I think you need to do some homework on the founding fathers. Our entire legal system was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Most, if not all of the founding fathers were very religious and incorporated religious belief into the foundation of our country and government. Some of the founding...

Re: Congratulations Branko & Freida Krpan
Can't deny that many of the Branko hounds have had an incredible impact over the years. Even if they don't carry the Branko name today, many of todays successful hounds can be traced back to some Branko blood in their pedigrees somewhere. Jack of All Trades, for one, can be found in so many FC pedig...

Re: Most AKC/CKC licensed wins ?
John-PA, Now that's funny! None of his dogs handled that mine were ever down with at a trial. Years back was at North Hampton-Russell till after dark trying to help him catch one of his hounds and never did. He got him later that night. Look, Look was how he called them, I'll never forget it. Art wa...

Re: Most AKC licensed wins ?
I know of some FC and IFC hounds that continue to be trialed for Sire points. Many of the CKC champions mentioned above continue to be trialed after they finish. Dogs with 10-30 wins have to be considered great hounds in any registry. Any dog that can accumulate that many wins must be very level hea...

Re: All You PURINA FEEDERS!!!
Unfortunately these groups are very well funded and will not go away. They will keep at it one issue at a time. Right now we may not be specifically affected, but they will be attacking us at some point. If we knew all the companies that give financial support to these groups we would probably be sh...

Re: Predator kills dog inside running enclosure
IMO if that pen is used regularly and there is human scent around I wouldn't think a coyote would climb in. If there is no evidence of tunneling under, or a hole in the wire I would lean toward the cat. All kinds of coyotes around one of the clubs I'm in and they have not climbed in to my knowledge....

Re: primetime or reggie ?
AL, I see you are going with Reggie himself. I do like the Ninja stuff in his pedigree. Not taking anything away from the other side of his line either. Have had a couple Ninja bred hounds in the past and seen a few go in my trialing days. Most were very nice. Good luck with the cross.
