As others have posted - it is a loss. FYI, Here is the procedure for scoring checks in ARHA Little Pack. http://www.arha.com/littlepack/LP%20RULES%202007.pdf E. Checks 1. Definition: A check occurs when it is evident that the hounds in pursuit of the rabbit have lost it for 15 seconds, or more. The ...

Re: Crossing wild rabbits with tame ?
Domestic rabbits are hare (genus = Lepus).
Cottontail rabbits are a different genus (Sylvilagus).
They cannot breed and produce offspring.
Hares can breed hares, rabbits can breed rabbits - they won't cross.

Re: Dog House doors - vinyl flaps
I am sure some dogs will chew on them. I keep stuff in the pen for them to chew on, so my older dogs don't. Every time I get a new pup, they seem to destroy a couple though. I was posting this as an alternative to paying so much for the pre-cut flaps. Other good ideas I have seen on other boards (si...

Re: NO-MO dog de-wormer?
It is not a wormer, it is an expeller. It expels eveything from the bowels, if worms are there - they are coming out too. This does a good job of getting rid of adult worms that live in the bowels. If you have a dog that is infested, it may be a good option. Because a dog that as infested may take s...

Dog House doors - vinyl flaps
I keep my dog in a ground pen with 3 of those plastic dog houses. Every year I have to replace several of the vinyl flaps, usually due to a pup tearing them up. Instead of paying $20-40 for a flap, I found the same material that you can order by the foot. I ordered 20' (shipping is the same on a sma...

Re: Puppy For Obama
I respectfully disagree.
Why buy/adopt a pure bred, purpose bred, dog when you have no intention to use it for that purpose?
I feel that you are short changing the dog and hurting the breed as a whole.

Re: feeding scraps
My dogs get meat scraps most nights. No sense throwing it away. Also, my dogs don't beg. Many times before out daughter was born I would come home to an empty kennel. All 3 beagles would be laying around the kitchen watching my wife cook. They knew better than to beg. If they did, they got their nos...

Re: Mule clothing
I recommend getting the ones that are waterproof and have a zipper. The waterproof is nice in wet grass/brush. The zipper is nice that you can take a pair of muddy chaps off without taking your boots off or getting you pants muddy. I have the plain mule chaps and a mule hunting vest. Both are qualit...
