My dogs are both middleaged dogs adopted from U.P. shelters. They are both companion animals only. Although Jake is so smart we may do some pet trick competitions in the future. Jakes 6 and I've had him for almost a year and a half and Fancys 6 and have had her for a few months. It's a lot different...

A solid white beagle? wow, never saw one of those before! My fav beagles are the ones who are mostly black w/a white belly & paws and some brown on the face, i think those are the best lookin. and also the lil tan freckles/spots too whatever they are.. both my dogs have them.`

Have you ever taken a laxative and felt like eating after? It makes your stomach so upset...the poor pup probably feels like he's going to die, if dogs feel like that lol. I think that was some bad advice they gave you.. and I do think it has to do with the anal glands.

My dog is having dental surgery in 2 weeks to cure an infection in her mouth and shes on 250 mg twice a day.

I didn't read all the replies. My male beagle is overweight too, I have to start walking him majorly! He had to get put on a low protein diet. It's not really helping any. I try to keep treats to a minimum too but he's still fat.

Not sure if it's the same thing or not but I got a wort removed from my female beagles eye when she got spayed for an extra $20. She looks a lot better with it gone!

I would of took him in and got his anal glands expressed for anything, too big of a mess with a laxative. Hope your dog feels better.
