This may or may not be the right answer but here goes anyway. All my houses have plywood floors. I noticed a long time ago that if I didn't have hay or cedar chips on the floor the hair would rub off of them.

I agree with you Stan. The gravel seems like a good idea. I have recently heard about this & am about to incorporate it into my kennel as well.

I build seperate house that rest on cinder blocks. The flooring for mine is 3/4" plywood. I keep fresh hay inside year round.
