Does being Overweight slow a dog down (footspeed) he is over by about 7 to 10 pounds maybe a little more.

I WOULD APPERICATE IT IF SOMEONE COULD TELL ME WHAT BREEDING THIS IS MY FRIEND HAS MALE WITH HIS NAME IN PED.

I HAVE A 2 1/2 YEAR OLD MALE THAT SOMETIMES GIVES A LITTLE MOUTH ON A CHECK NOT MUCH BUT HE DOES GIVE MOUTH.
ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO GET HIM TO STOP WOULD BE GREATLY APPERCIATED?

HE HAS NO PROBLEM COVERING ANOTHER HOUND.

I live in va so i have never seen a hare more less run dogs on them.My question is?
Which is harder to run cottontail or hare just wondering??
