I have never shot a contender but I am pretty sure that its gonna be alot better then the commanche... I shot a commanche and didnt like it at all.. I was shooting at a big piece of hard plastic at about 25 yards and I would be willing to bet I could have throwed the pellets to it better.

If you decide to keep the dog you can talk to a GOOD vet and they can tell you a few things that can help.
