May have found mentor?

:D I had a message from a woman on my answering machine when I got home from work yesterday - she wanted to know if I was the same <name> that had shown a Beagle at the August show in Topeka. Turns out, this person also lives here in Topeka, has a little male dog (2 weeks younger than Shasta) that s...

I'm nowhere near what you two are (in the show world) but

I have been around dogs most of my life so I can kind of relate. In my case, there is no husband so whatever gets done is all mine. Those flat, squeeker-less shells of once plush stuffed toys would definitely end up in the yard if I didn't stop Shasta from taking them out - she always heads for the ...

Ok - I don't know how that happened .............

That new topicwas suppose to be a reply to the message about Shasta's show pic but I must have hit the wrong button - wonder if this will work------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The constructive criticism is what I was waiting to hear - that is why I put t...

I really do love to hear all this - it's what I was waiting

:) The constructive criticism is what I was waiting to hear - that is why I put that picture here. I am not sure how much of it I will do this year - right now, we only have 1 more weekend of shows lined-up - remember, we are mainly out to have a little fun at this point and get to any shows in this...

Show Picture of Shasta

Ok - here is a picture of Shasta that I had taken at the show. I had only clipped her whiskers for this show & she still needs to lose a pound or two. She is also going to start getting a little more exercise because of a little bit flabby due to the weight that she has already lost. She's a ways of...

Thanks for the info

Yes, I agree - that is alot of grooming for that "natural" look but it really does look nice. That Topeka show that Shasta was there - there was a little kind of red & white Beagle that took the winner's bitch class - she was all clipped up like the info said - it did give her a nice smooth & even a...

Thanks Cindy

I'm right there where your thinking is - we will keep showing when and where we can, as long as Shasta is showing me she is having fun - whether we win the points or not. And in a couple of years, depending on how things work out - there is the possibility - even if it is small - of breeding her. If...

Videos - Shasta in the show ring

Ok - taking a little time here to put up these videos. They were taken August 18 & 19, 2007, first shows for Shasta at the Capital City Cluster in Topeka, KS. Shasta was the only entry to show each day in her puppy class - there was suppose to be another entry each day but they never showed up. She ...

A little more info about my Beagles & me

I wonder - is there a limit on each post - this may be a little long. First, I wanted to put up the pedigree I have for Shasta- [img] Second - I'm going to tell you a little about my Beagles and why they ...

Just a quick reminder.........

If you think these two look a little alike - they are related. Shasta's dam, Schafer Farms Contessa, came from the same litter that Shiloh did making my two uncle & niece.

A little about Tess's Sparkling Shasta

Thank you for the compliment on Shasta - Shasta is actually my little female pup. As I said, she is not from show bloodlines and as for hunting - not sure if you would be familiar with her breeding. Not sure if well known outside of my home area here in northeast Kansas. I have a copy of her AKC 4 g...

Congratulations

I wish we could get some shows around here to get majors - not that Shasta is ready for any competition like that but still, I would love to see that many Beagles at one show. We're doing good to have maybe 2-3 in a class in this region. Congrats on your championship and definitely put up a picture ...

Yes, the toenails clipped & even whiskers for today

Yes, those toenails did get clipped this past Thursday eve. I also got a little brave and cut her whiskers for today's show. Will probably show at Lawrence, Kansas in October but not sure after that. And the tongue stayed in the mouth today - it was terribly hot that practice day in a metal warehous...
